Copper Mountain College Men’s Basketball Rolls Past LA Pierce, 72–55
The Copper Mountain College Men's Basketball team continued its strong early-season play with a decisive 72–55 victory over LA Pierce on Saturday night.
The Fighting Cacti set the tone early, using their trademark suffocating defense to build a 9-point halftime lead, heading into the break up 35–26.
Coming out of halftime, CMC momentarily sputtered as they worked to adjust to Pierce's 1-3-1 zone. That changed quickly when a sharp, well-timed pass from Fernando Vazquez found Amarion Wallace for a momentum-shifting bucket—sparking a run the Brahmas couldn't stop.
Sophomore guard Tyrece Rose led the charge with 18 points, showcasing his playmaking and scoring versatility. Fellow sophomore Amarion Wallace added 17 points, continuing to be a reliable offensive force for CMC.
With the win, the Fighting Cacti carry momentum into their next matchup as they prepare to face San Diego Mesa on Wednesday, November 19th at 5 p.m.
