Copper Mountain College Women's Basketball dominates season opener over 84-51 over Oxnard College

The Copper Mountain College (CMC) Women's Basketball team opened their 2025–26 season in commanding fashion, defeating Oxnard College 84–51 in the opening game of the CMC Tip-Off Classic.

The Fighting Cacti came out strong on both ends of the court, setting the tone early with relentless defensive pressure. CMC forced the Condors into numerous turnovers, converting them into fast-break opportunities and easy transition points.

Leading the way for the Fighting Cacti was Gia McFadden, who scored 16 points to pace a balanced offensive attack.

Head Coach Kris Groce praised the team's energy and teamwork, noting that their defensive effort established the foundation for success on offense.

The Fighting Cacti will look to continue their momentum in the final game of the CMC Tip-Off Classic, scheduled for tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. against the Southwestern College Jaguars in the Bell Center
